Fitness Bootcamp Kickboxing Program

Fitness Bootcamp Kickboxing Program

In keeping with the fitness bootcamp vacation, a popular way to get fit and see a foreign locale is to go on a kickboxing camp. Kickboxing is a Thai discipline so you’d be visiting Thailand again but it’s a great place and the cost of living is so affordable. In fact, Kickboxing bootcamps have become really popular recently as people are looking for new ways to get fit but be warned it’s pretty full on. If you have ever seen the Jean Claude Van Damme movie about Kickboxing or all those other movies where a westerner gets schooled in an oriental martial art then you kind of know what to expect.

Fitness Bootcamp – Kickboxing Camp

Looking at the kickboxing bootcamps available they seem to offer various levels of commitment to the art or discipline. You can do the workouts and training routines that lead to actually having a kickboxing bout in the ring or you can go for something that just improves your fitness and is non contact.

The first course is for people that are really into kickboxing and want to take it up as a full time sport. The latter is for people that want to just get fitter and get some new fitness ideas from an exotic martial art.

As already mentioned, the cost of living is so affordable in Thailand, for instance, a month at a typical Kickboxing fitness bootcamp is around $300 to $350 a month. That includes training 6 days a week and 3 sessions a day (totaling 6 hours a day). That’s a pretty full on schedule in anyone’s book.

The format of the program includes physical fitness, so you will do a daily run or jog, then go into the gym to practice kickboxing techniques. There are also the softer aspects of the discipline, so you will do stretching and even yoga at the end of most days.

Many kickboxing camps also look at nutrition and detoxing the body. This basically sets out the types of meals you should eat when on an intensive training program. Depending on your reasons for attending the camp, you may also learn about “typically” eastern ways to detox the body or eat a healthier diet.

That’s the good thing about many of these camps. You don’t have to fight. You can go for the non contact option where your goal is merely to lose weight. You will do most of the same exercises as the kickboxers including many of the kickboxing technique exercises. These exercises consist of shadow boxing or hitting spot pads. And even though you are not going to get into a ring anytime soon, these sessions really give you a solid workout that will lose weight in no time at all.

Another factor that is often over looked with fitness bootcamps in Thailand (and any other country in the tropics) is that there is a high level of humidity. This can be hard to deal with initially but once you acclimatize it is great for losing weight fast.
